cJoin the World of Dance for a Taste of Italy spaghetti dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16 at Cook’s Park. The All-You-Can-Eat dinner features spaghetti and sauce, homemade meatballs and sweet sausage, Italian bread, salad, dessert and beverage. The dinner is a fundraiser for the competition team. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for children age 4 to 10 (children age 3 and younger are free. $25 for a family (2 Adults and 2 Children). Bring your entire family -- buy 10 tickets and get 2 free tickets. To purchase tickets see the front desk at the dance studio or email info@worldofdancealbany.com. There will be gift baskets (min. value $60) available for raffle (see them at the dance studio) and a 50/50 drawing.

The World of Dance was named one of the Top 50 dance studios in the country by the Federation of Dance Competitions for the 2007-08 dance season (read the story here). This highly prestigious designation is awarded to the highest scoring dance studios from the thousands of studios who compete in FDC competitions each year.


cCongrats to Jacob Clemente -- Jacob was recently cast in Gypsy on Broadway (starring Patty Lupone). He was also named Mini Outstanding Male Dancer at the New York City Dance Alliance! c We had a wonderful time at our 1st Annual World of Dance picnic (see photos) held August 25.

cCongratulations to our competition team! They competed at StarQuest dance competition in Massachusetts May 18-20. The production team won the Apogee Award in the Petite/Junior division with Happy Feet. The Apogge award is given to the highest scoring number. Many of our wonderful dancers had top 5 and top 10 finishes and we are proud of them and our title winners. cThe first annual World of Dance Golf Tournament was a huge success! The weather was beautiful and 99 golfers had a great time with a beautiful banquet following their 18 holes of golf. Special thanks to Jim and Lathy Linehan and to our sponsors. Also, a special thank you to Paul Riley, who also worked so hard to make this fundraiser the best it could be. His hard work is truly appreciated. The overall winners of the golf tournament were: Sean Gavin, Jack Morocco, RJ Hyson and Fred Hepfer with a score of 11 under par. We look forward to next year's tournament already set for May 5, 2008.
